When are the next generation of AMD cards due out?

No AMD will not launch high end 8900 XTX.

AMD cancelled Navi 41 and 42.

AMD also cancelled Navi 4C.

AMD will launch Navi 43 mid range 8700 XT as the only top end card like Navi 10 5700 XT did.

AMD had not did well with RDNA3, Radeon Technologies Group division had not made money since RDNA3 launch last year and there are reports of mass layoff about 450 employee.

If you didnt know AI is a major thing right now and likely will require a few changes within the design teams.

None know what amd will release yet except amd.

Rumours means nothing if someone ask a question here

Even some rumours that amd may quit the consumer discrete GPU market

Which probably spawned off the above rumours of no 8900xtx, people just jumping to conclusions to feed the rumour mill.

Not exactly sure what your laughing emoji is about in my above post, as there has been nothing but rumours from the usual suspects talking about the alleged lack of a high end from amd next time around.

This is probably the reason AMD cancelled Navi 4C, 41 and 42. As Jensen Haung had been said back in 2022 warned us that TSMC 3nm will be really very expensive compared to TSMC 4nm and Samsung 8nm then fast forward to today, his claim was turned out to be true. Apple has very deep pocket and has massive resources they can afford 3nm $20,000 per wafer plus $333m for EACH chip tape outs.

R&D 2023 budget: Apple $29.369bn, Intel $16.955bn, Nvidia $7.812bn and AMD $5.499bn.

AMD has no resources and did not have deep pocket as Apple, Intel and Nvidia did.

2nm will be more expensive than 3nm, wafer probably will cost $25,000 and each tape outs will soared to about $500m.

1.4nm? Wafer $30,000 each, each tape out could soared to about $750m.

In their own slides, RDNA 4 is due in 2024, that's all I've seen confirmed from them. If you're planning on upgrading your 7900 XTX soon, I wouldn't hold your breath.

It’s not like they had high end with RDNA3 either. They just labelled it as high end.
And priced as high end.

AMD only got away with it because because Nvidia jacked up the 4080 price by $500 and used the tier down die, how much would the 7900XT/XTX have sold for if Nvidia kept last gen prices/die sizes and used a 102 die for the 4080 and priced it $700 while using the 103 for a 4070 priced at $500.

apparently the next set of AMD cards are made and designed by AI. They asked AI what cards consumers would like and AI have given them the designs.

Its the Diet Coke Y3000 of graphics cards.

:)
