When are you going fully electric?

The time from A to B. Would “destroy” any notion of being similar.

Don’t get too set on the idea of LSD thats from the ICE museum. Etron S has a twin motor rear, no torque sharing required, each motor has its own dedication wheel for torque in both directions if needed to manage car acceleration, deceleration, rotation and yaw change.

Renewable Energy Generation looking good in GB; with yesterday and today over 50% and fossil fuels at ~13%

I don’t see myself as a reformed smoker. Just an enlightened person who sees the way things are going and has decided to appreciate the positives of what I’ve got rather than look backwards at what I had.
Which is an excellent way of approaching things unlike a blanket statement claiming people "don't get it" because their opinion is different.

We have three ICE vehicles in the household, the two with VAG TSI engines I'd happily swap for the near silence of an EV with absolute certainty that I would never miss the bland noise of their petrol powered units.

My MX5 on the other hand has a touch of induction noise and a nice sporty burble from its exhaust which in its role as a pure recreational vehicle does add to its appeal.

Now I'm under no disillusion that the 4 cylinder in that is anything special so swap that for something with a bit more character and I'm pretty sure most people into their cars would agree it makes up part of the package that puts a smile on your face.

Except you decided to take it out of context and run with the "don't get it" bit and completely miss the point, which is that entire sentence was about ICE noise being another form of pollution. Are you perhaps an MP or some spin media agent?

Other than the airbnb trick to manually search for amenity '97', is anyone aware of other holiday home places that allow you to search for places with EV charging?
You can set it as a filter on Hotels.com. We recently booked a cottage and I noticed that most places that do offer EV charging don't specifically have it as a listed feature but do reference it in the description along the lines of "electric charging can be arranged by prior arrangement with the owner" or words to that effect.

Well done, you're not one of the majority ;)

I have to ask though, why are you anti-EV?

I don’t think he’s necessarily anti-EV, but I believe he is some form of technologist for a fuel company. So maybe a turkey not voting for Christmas is a better euphemism.

I don’t think he has much to worry about. There will be diesel HGVs for years to come yet.

Mercedes-Benz EQS Claims Aerodynamics Crown
The benchmark drag coefficient figure of 0.20, measured in Mercedes-Benz’s state-of-the-art wind tunnel in Sindelfingen, Germany, places the EQ model ahead of its both its electric-powered and combustion-engine sedan car rivals for outright aerodynamic efficiency.

In January, Tesla claimed a drag coefficient of 0.208 for the facelifted Model S, bettering the 0.21 of the Lucid Air

Like that of the new BMW iX, the clamshell-shaped structure has been designed to remain closed during the lifetime of the car. “There is no mechanism to allow the customer to open the bonnet. It can be opened during servicing with special tooling, but it is designed to remain closed,” says Steffen Koehl, head of Mercedes-Benz advanced design.

Consisting of three separate displays integrated behind a single curved panel measuring 55.5-ins. (141 cm) in width, it is controlled by the latest version of the MBUX operating system, whose 8-core CPU features 24GB of RAM and supports over-the-air software updates.

they don't say what the frontal area is, though.

Well, it’s a brand new car, it’s just that P* found stock rather than building a factory order. The car must have been built a while ago.
Pretty much happened to me .
The original delivery date was mid January which aligned to my BMW Touring going back. Then after a couple of weeks the delivery was updated to late October. Meant a bit of rush getting a charger installed and my old car returned early :/

Yeah that’s my next challenge. The Lease company cancelled the charger install so I don’t even have a date in that now.
