When are you going fully electric?

Tesla S & X distinction - largely down to spotting the door frame distinction for the gull wing doors ? it's premium gene pool, is, otherwise, not so evident ?

trailers afaik - It's not the aero though, with the trailer, that kills the ev range, its the non uniform loading that the trailer puts on the electric motors, and delivering that torque is giving reduced efficiency in the electronics; the regen algorithms too, would need some 'training'.

No, its physics. Road load is much higher. Efficiently linear. The extra heat and throttle for ICE simply moves the engine volumetric efficiency state, so the actual energy use doesnt increase asmuch as the engine is operation more efficiently (only wasting 65% of the fuel energy as heat rather than 72%....)

The two main things would be

1. The app actually connects to the car
2. Notification when charging has finished

Comparing the audi app to the teslas is a bit like comparing a worm to veyron. The Teslas is so much better, you almost can't even class them in the same category.

There's a few things I would like though. The ability to fault find and see the status of the windows and doors would be nice.

Thats pretty poor. Mine does all of that, told me when adblue was low on the Velar/Evoque etc too.

It is but same with ICE cars but interesting it hurts EV much more than ICE. With my v6 touareg I get around 33 mpg around town and country roads and this drops to 24-25mpg when towing so you are only losing 25%, maybe 33% of range depending on load.

EVs seem to be 50% no matter whose EV it is.

I think that's because ICE are just so inefficient to start with, when you're engine is only 35% efficient you don't notice the hit as much but in an EV when you start at 80% efficiency you'll notice it a whole lot more

Honestly, I've never know anything so rubbish. I've just spent the last 30mins trying to get it working.....nope. The damn thing simply won't connect.
There's so many places you have to login to your audi account, then after all that messing about, it still doesn't work. It's also really confusing. It says to use the mobile app, you need to connect to the cars onboard wifi....which simply isn't true. I tried it anyway, now it's asking me to select a payment plan. Nah, it means passengers to use the cars wireless data. The wording is terrible.

Final straw, I decided to log out completely and do it all again.....now it's coming up with an error saying "failed to logout".

Even tried logging into the audi connect website, which is coming up with a server error lol

I've given up with it now.

I wonder what the equivalent in EV terms would be? Is there even one?

Power surge? What happens if lightning hits the charging pod?

Or EV charging stations getting 'ICEd'.

Nah, none of those are the equivalent of your BEV being made useless due to bad electrons. I think lightning strike would be the closest, but that would mean the entire charging site would need to not be properly installed/isolated for it to affect the vehicles charging at the time.

Thats shocking considering how well the VW app works. It even tells me when my dog has set off the internal alarm.

There's still quite a bit I'd like to see in the Tesla app - for example you can't change the scheduled charge start time from the app (only in the car). I'd also like to be able to plan a route in the app and see expected battery consumption a bit like when using A Better Route Planner (like you see on the car screen).

The opposite of "Humans being Bro's".. Human's being ****s

I am heartened by the fact that there are enough superchargers for the Tesla's that needed to charge even with this infantile truck-parking!
It is happening more often, where ICE drivers think it's okay to block an EV charger. Common reasons are "No one was using it!", "It's closer to the entrance I use!" or "I didn't know/realise it was an EV space"
Of course, there are some people who do it on purpose or because they think it's funny

resentment that they have no electric pick-ups yet - how big will the f150 battery need to be to tow

I suppose these will work for builders/parcel delivery
The vans are Vauxhall Vivaro-e models, and will be made in France, where the PSA group that owns the marque is based. The Vivaro-e releases this month, with two sizes of lithium-ion battery available: a 75kWh version that provides an impressive 205 miles of range on the WLTP cycle, or a smaller 50kWh option with 143 miles of range.
This, says Vauxhall, means “that multi-drop deliveries around large towns and cities on a single charge will become a reality for British business users”.
A payload of 1,275kg (only 130kg less than the van’s diesel counterparts) means that British Gas workers can...
something, that should be on the roads now. £35K

Protest parking defending their constitutional right to own a V8? Or maybe the tiny ding-dong club having their annual meet up.

Those sorts of people is that they all fall into the ‘American first’ and ‘real men drive a V8 truck’ type of thinking.

The irony is that Tesla is an American company that produces all of its cars for America in America unlike the Ford or Chevy they are driving. They are literally harming the one car company who actually adhere to America First.

Ford and Chevy have been offshoring their production to Canada and Mexico for years. Chevy in particular who also happily took the bailout in 2008/9.

Same applies to all the dealership nonsense over there. Some states prevent direct car sales from the only American car company that actually produces all of its cars for America in America. They actively campaign against them, it’s madness.

It's a bloody nightmare. Thing is, even if it did work it's pretty useless as there's literally nothing you can do anyway. You can schedule a service with your local dealer, but all that does it send them an email lol

To be honest, I wish I'd have bought a Tesla despite the shocking build quality.

It's like a Nokia vs an iPhone.
