What order do I do things in ?
Here's what I think.

1) Put all the bits together
2) Turn it on and install the OS
3) Update Mobo drivers
4) Update GFX card drivers.
5) Put what you want on it (firewall, antivirus, set up mail, get interweb working etc..)
6) Overclock the chuffins out of it
7) Relax

Is that right ?

Possibly swap 4 and 6 around, video card drivers can wait - get the cpu clocked ;)

I would normally do it how you say in your first post but on my 1st Core 2 rig I couldnt wait to get the cpu volted up and clocked sky high :D

Before you build.
Sort Nlite out so you have an updated, cut down windows install.
Also build your Mobo up before you install. Stick as much hardware on there you can whilst it's outside the case.

Come on, I'm sure there's a right and a wrong way !!

Eg swap 3 and 5 round.
I bet that would be wrong :)

Well, there's asking a decent question and then there's just being silly.
