Hey guys going to just winge a little and ask a few questions 
Conroe? why, when, who - been on a mission trying to get a spec for 2 new systems, one for home (media center) other for work (3d production).
My experience so far, from asking countless questions on the forums (ps cheers for all the replys guys much appreciated) - half the motherboards dont like half the ram, and the other half dont like the 7950 graphics cards
Its all great fun. You ask your questions.. think you have found the perfect motherboard for your new Conroe setup.. then you find out that the gfx card wont work, or that all the ram you thought would be perfect isnt "totaly" compatible, Or if you really unlucky - one of the motherboards wont accept the conroe chip off the bat .. untill you update you bios.
Thats my Winge - heres some questions.
Anyone have any clue when the Nforce 500 series will be out?
(Whats the chances of these being imcompatible with lots of different memory brands?)
Why cant things be simple

From the replies to previous posts the following looks like what ill be getting- Please correct any misguided ideas i may have or add any suggestions about the rigs cheers.
(Media Center PC) - note will be gaming on this too
conroe 6600
Abit AB9 PRO
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX
EVGA GeForce 7950 GX2
Samsung HDD - 400gb Sata2
Plextor Sata dual layer 18x DVDrw
Logitech diNovo Laser Media Desktop
Zalman HD160 Home Theatre PC Enclosure - Silver
(3D workstation) - obviously some gaming done on this too
conroe 6800extreme (considered going the Xeon route (based on core 2). but they dont see to be readily available yet, I can always upgrade in 6months - 1year)
Intel Extreme D975bx (intel chip on intel mobo, sounds stable although considering waiting for the nforce590 for some of the network load balancing/bridging features)
4gb Corsair XMS2-6400C3 OR XMS2-8500C5 (not sure if the faster ram would be more benificial or the lower latencies as im sure the 6400 will overclock)
EVGA GeForce 7950 GX2 (*cough* gaming on the sly in work - never liked quadros thier no faster based on all the years ive been working in the industry and thier always massively overpriced - geforce cards work just as well in 99% of 3d apps especially using SLI for SLIAA and high res)
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10k x2 raid 0 (boot drive)
1tb Raid 5 (storage drive - will decide on brand when i order)
Plextor Sata dual layer 18x DVDrw
Microsoft Natural Keyboard (dont mind which.. as long as its split in the middle.. as thier very comfortable to use)
Kensington trackball Pro (already have and i love it)
Already have a case and water cooling ready and waiting
I know this is quite a major spend - hence all the questions reciently.
All comments on the above rigs would be appreciated
