when did whole cream milk get rubbish?

as a child I used to love whole cream milk, the best thing I liked about it was that on pretty much every bottle you ever bought was a layer of 'cream' for want of a better word, at the top of every bottle, I used to love having those bits of creamy milk on my cereal, Ive recently started buying whole cream milk again only to find it all perfectly mixed and no cream

whats the deal ?
