When i put power into g,card, pc restarts when gets to decktop ?

not sure if its the hot weather but i crashed playing cod4 tnite and now if i leave the power that goes into the card in as my pc boots to windows it just restarts at dektop every single time unless i take out the cards extra power then it runs but obvious limits the cards graphics but i have no clue what as caused this and i even left comp off for hours to cool but same thing...

I'm not entirely sure, but leaving the power cord out may cause the GPU to be clocked down, which would obviously produce less heat.
If it's crashing when it's got the power in, could be that it's overheating? Is the fan on it spinning up?
