Will it be best to run my RAM 1:1, 400mhz and multiplier 8x. Or keep the RAM and CPU FSB unlinked?

1:1 & 400x8 is almost certainly the optimum configuration... higher FSB is always good

Excellent. At 3ghz my temperature is 42C under load. Look forward to pushing the E6600 a little more tonight.

My Geil RAM can run 450 without a problem so you might check whether or not you can run 3.2 with the 7X multi and RAM at 900mhz. If you think it can go up that high. Either that or push your 6600 higher on the 8X multi.

3.6 isn't unheard of and it seems like you've got good cooling. Always check temps with coretemp or TAT. At 3.6 your RAM will be chugging away nicely at 900mhz.

I have not tried overclocking my RAM at all yet, so I will probably link 1:1 for now. I'm not really fussed about pushing my hardware right to its limits, just happy with a decent overclock. Was thinking of leaving it at 3ghz, but seeing as I could run at 1:1, have a 3.2 overclock it might be worth pushing my CPU that bit more.
