When I was a kid, I could always get out of bed in the morning to watch the TV as long as it was turned way down. But some families were very strict on this, and I remember staying at my cousins and he used to say you can't get out of bed unless the parents were up. So if it was 8 you had to stay in bed till 10 as they hadn't woken up. Did anyone have parents like this?

There are parents who can get their children to stay in bed until 10? My 3 siblings and I were always up at 6 watching power rangers and thunder cats
Yes, my cousin's parents were like this, as were one of my friends when I was 9 years old.. Don't get out of bed, mum will be angry he'd say
