Ok the history behind this is pretty long but here goes:
Conroe setup as below, full MCE 2005 patched up with Cat 6.8's and everything is working ok
Come back the next day and no video will play of any type - application has to close blah blah blah
So I try re-installing drivers, no luck
try installing k-lite mega pack - no problems
reinstall MP10, MP 11 no luck
In the end I completely format windows c drive and reinstall and at each point I test a video (after basic hardware is all installed properly and recognised by Device Manager) and its working ok - at least its not a hardware problem - install av and double check, still working
Install MS Messenger , yep video still working (still keeping a restore point after each new software install)
Windows update forces a "Software distribution 2.0" and it all goes haywire again - rollback to previous state where msn was installed and I created a restore point while watching a dvd - argggghhhhhhh it doesnt work MP11 crashes instantly
Anyone got any ideas?
