I'm sitting here, looking about the OC shop, drooling over new products, and thinking back to machine and wanting a new CPU, mem, MOBO & GFX cards!

I only bought this lot in December 05 and paid £800, but i just cant help wanting more.

Its idiotic, but i seriously dont care, if i won a sneeky grand tomorrow, i'd spend at least half of it on computer parts!

The worst thing i ever did back in 96 was build my own computer.

Even worse than that i dont even have any spare time to play these grahpically superb games, and even worse than that i cant even afford to buy em.

All this to play FM if i do get the chance.

Seriously need me head read.

The computer addiction, just after shelling out a lot of money on a rig, some new sexy parts are released and you just have to buy them. :(

Should start a club:

"Hi my name's Steven, and i'm addicted to computer parts."

"I thought i could handle the urge, but the next thing you know my cards are maxed, and i'm crawling the internet searching for my next fix."

I used to be like this. But recently I've become a bit obsessed with finding cheap deals on used items. It's a lot cheaper and very satisfying :)

I know the feeling.

I spend more time trying to justify the purchase of new parts than I do deciding on which ones to buy!

I have a nasty habit of waiting (looking & researching) and waiting, finding out what i want buy it, and in two weeks its half price.

I have a knack for it, and the main reason i have an urge to upgrade.

*Raises Hands*

I find myself breaking into my neighbours house while they are away and taking whats not mine, I steal car stereos to sell, I drug deal, I steal from shops, I beat up old women on there way home from bingo. I do all this so I can buy the lastest in computering technology. Anyway I am off now to break into the chippie before they close, while they have money, I heard OcUK are having some price reductions on Thursday.

Second-hand is the way to go.

I want to get something off the members market here, but aint used it before and would be terrifiyed of getting bumped.

That's always possible. But I think the chances of it happening here are lower than on the "auction place" if you stick to not only good feedback but long standing members with high post counts as well as feedback.

I very much trust this place compared to "tap" its just ive never used MM and wouldn't know how to go about buying.

I'm sure its simple, just need a seller with some paitence.

When you see something you want, make an offer. If the seller is happy with the price then take it to email. Personally I don't use PayPal, etc and am only really happy to send or receive money through Bank Transfer (easy with Internet Banking). Send the money. When it clears then the seller posts your item.

Ensure the seller is posting with insured recorded delivery (RMSD - Royal Mail Special Delivery is even better but costs more). This proves if it was sent and whether it got there.

Admittedly it gets a bit harder if the item was faulty on arrival. But assuming the seller posted it when working, then the insured delivery would cover it. It's quite simple but obviously takes a bit longer than buying from a shop.

Whats email in trust then?

I hear loads of people say it, i'm guessing its taking it to private email convo's?

Everyone can activate their trust accounts when they have over 250 posts (click the trust button under one of your posts), this gains you access to the Members Market and you can see peoples email address and feedback rating in the trust profiles.

Will check it out, unfortunatly i cant remember me password.

I need to speak to admin actually, how is that possible round here?

I used to have this so called "pc addiction" lol
This affliction has left me with eight pc's and a shed full of pc junk.
I stopped buying all the latest stuff some time ago because at the end of the day I got sick of having to spend silly amounts just to have the latest n greatest for a short while

I still havent gone 64bit lol, when I do it will most probably be when these pc's I have kick the bucket

I usually find myself selling off the three weeks out of date stuff to buy the just in stuff, and then I realise I need to upgrade my memory so that i can overclock the new stuff to the max, but that means buyinga new motherboard and then maybe a beefier PSU to make sure the overclock is stable...

...I used to find myself spending more time tweaking and running benchmarks than actually playing games!

This is one of the reasons I sold my desktop rig and got myself a gaming lappy - you are really limited on upgrades (I have only had it a week though and already upgraded RAM and HDD!!!!)
