My system specs are below what do u think?
I game at 1920x1080, witcher 3 and fallout 4 don't do as well as I hoped. Should I wait till early next year for a system purchase or just upgrade the gpu and to what?

Only you know how important it is.

If you can't bear to play the games you own then maybe go upgrade. Alternatively hold out and just see what happens. We should see some real jump in gfx technology within about 4 month.

I don't like my 680 anymore is It worth spending getting a 390 at xmas and what's the diff between 390x and 390 worth getting x version

Also what bout 970 and 980?

Do you have a budget as the cards you're considering range from £250 to £400?

Anandtech have a benchmark comparison tool, you can see the difference between your 680 and a 390 here - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1494?vs=1594

You'd see quite an increase which might be worth it, depends if you think you'll keep the new card for a significant amount of time.

The pascal stuff might be amazing, it might be expensive and not that much better, we just don't know yet. Slated for release in first half of 2016 so could be as late as June, that's a lot of gaming time where you could be enjoying a much better experience.

I picked up a 390 in the black Friday sale, was only £205, shame you missed it buddy.

Regarding the 390X, if you can get it for a similiar price as a regular 390 that's great but only a few FPS different in many tests, some up to 10 FPS but I wouldn't pay a massive premium for it personally. Again the Anandtech Bench is here - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1559?vs=1594

yeah my range was 300 max the 390 defo came into the equation as for the black friday sale, i didn't miss it i found the 205 Pound deal, it's link for the card expired. i was trying to contact support that time but i was too late. I can only hope xmas deals are as good.

i saw the benchmarks the 390 is defo a worth upgrade if i can get it for less then 250 pounds

I'd wager you'll see more 10-20 quid discounts on 390s in the near future, so if you can wait then just keep an eye out for deals.
