When is the Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer Accelero X2 coming out? i read some places it was suppose to come out on the 22nd of this month but no where seems to stock it... Has the release date been postponed??? please help i want to get rid of my x1800xt fan as its too noisy :)

Hi!

Welcome to the forums :)

It's listed on their website so it shouldn't be too long

I'd personally get the Zalman VF700Cu though (here). It's a very nice cooler and very quiet on 5V

I don't like the design of the new Artic Coolers at all - it is a real design fault to blow all of the hot air onto the motherboard. Early reports are anything but good too

thanks for the suggestion, but i had experiences of artic coolers and they always seemed to be good and quiet. I've got an Antec P180 case and the psu is at the bottom and the cpu is water cooled (Zalmans Reserator) so the hot air will just get sucked out from the two fans on the back and top :) you prob say why i dont get a water cooling block for the gfx card but i dont seem to see one out for my gfx card and it sometimes worries me that it may add too much heat to my water cooling system

For pure silence then i would deffo go with the X1/X2 but the vf-900 should be out soon, it is hinted it is extremely quiet and cools like a god as its all heatpipe baised. :)

However i noticed that in intense games such as f.e.a.r and bf2 on max settings my x1900xtx pumps increadably hot air out the back, yours should be around the same too, the x2 cools worse than the ati stock cooler and also doesnt exhaust the heat, you need some seriously good airflow to get rid of the heat that will be kept inside and will be moving slowly due to the x2 fan.

Imo, wait for the vf-900 and 5-7v it, it should not only cope with the huge amount of heat but also be silent. :)

Are you sure?

I just read a review on another site that says the X1/X2 are one of the best coolers out there and are 6 degrees cooler at load using the dynamic fan setting compared to the default cooler.

For the X1, the review was quoting GPU Load temps:
Accelero X1, fan @ 25% = 58 degs
AC NV5 Rev3., fan @ 25% = 58 degs
Zalman VF700, 5v mode = 63 degs
Reference cooler, default fan = 65 degs

Shame we don't have a VF900 to compare against but these figures suggest the X1/X2 are no brainers.

I am pushing Artic Cooling for this product every single day of the week. They are on a boat at the moment so it is going to be a little while before we see them. Other E-Tailers are listing release dates that simply aren't going to happen.
