When is the nvidia 9800 due out

Last I heard was that nVidia were tweaking the GX2 so that it would show as a single card in Windows (and not 2 like SLi). That would be nice

I would actually buy one of those without hesitation if it didn't rely on SLI. I hope you're right!

if they got thier gx2 tech working nicely and as 1 card i would be tempted....depending what i had at the time, i might just plump for the proper revised gts or something and wait for 9800

the new GF 9800 will be release Q1 2008 and the Ultra version due next year - think either Q3 or Q4 2008 - ive emaled to Nvidia and they mentioned about new GF9 to be release in early 2008 but it may delay -- date still unknown.

that 8800 GX2 is gonna be massive, will require a small freezer to keep it cool, and will require a power feed direct from a nuclear plant.

I wish they would switch focus from just yet more power to trying to make them smaller and more efficient. It is getting to the point where GFX cards are getting so huge that you pretty much need to put one on a mobo and build the rest of the PC around it - rather than fitting them inside an existing PC...
