When your Xbox 360 throws a 3ROD ... post on OcUK.

I'm on my 3rd 360, although this is my first time shipping it back to MS.
Whats the quality of the returned product like?
Is there an extension to the warranty for 360s that have required some MS TLC?

Just had a browse through the forum, seems like there is a bit of a pandemic going round the consoles lately.

Though I don't agree with it of course.

Ok on topic. My refurbished console has been working fine for 6 months without a problem. Recieved it within 7 days of sending my buggered console off aswell. Though Fifa did crash on me the other day after the 15th game in a row :eek:

I beleive the username was changed a while back and hasn't been changed back since. Btw OP I've only ever had 1 refurb and that was for my cousin.

It's still going 6 months later, they seem to be cleaned out refurbs, Can't remember which model it was although I'm quite sure it was a Falcon.

Just sent my 2nd one back today aswell

It's usually a lucky dip as far as quality will go with the returned 360 as it's most likely going to be a refurb. My refurb was actually better then my original though (it ran quiter and cooler) so you could either be better or worse off. Mine only actually broke because I jabbed the power button too hard

When sending it back to MS more then once they usually give you something for your trouble, but since its your first time you will probably get nothing

I got offered a 1 months free live for my troubles

Other people who have sent it back 3 or more times usually kick up a fuss and get a free controller/game/live sub or something along those lines.

Anyway you will be covered under the 3 year warrenty since mine was a 2005 model and was accepted no problem

It will be your 360 with replaced internal components (in your case just the motherboard).

If there is it's limited to 30 days.

Starswirl sent her 360 in a few weeks back, you will currently get 1 month XBL free even if it's your first 360 return.

I was hoping to get HDMI.

Most likely won't get HDMI, even if you get a replacement console.

I've my Launch premium sent back twice. Once I got the same console with a new mobo, second time I got a refurbed machine with a new mobo (without HDMI).

BTW I can now beat the UNSC on heroic using the Covenant without losing a unit or a building... I'd like to say thats a reflection on my skill, but I suspect its a reflection the quality of the AI

My other replacement is good as gold but as noisy as the old launch consoles.

In summary the 360 is the worst piece of electrical equipment ever to grace my household.

I think you've gone through more 360s than Kreeeee's mums gone through men.

Yes I'd love to play Gears but I can't because.

A) Due to a little flood, I'm living at my parents and the shouting will not be welcomed
B) Due to a little flood, I'm living at my parents and the internet drops faster than kreeee's mum's knickers
C) Due to a little flood, I'm living at my parents and I need to go home to apply paint samples to a wall and compare them to carpet samples on the floor... Oh yay I'm going to have fun tonight.

My last one that 3ROD'd before Christmas was replaced not repaired so you may just get a refurbed unit back.

Edit: I think Danny should just forget about 360's and just get a PS3, he obviously hates the 360 as he keeps abusing his consoles.

I collect 1 month live passes. If I can send back one of my 360's 12 times a year I get free Live!

I have had a PS3 for 4 months now, playing LBP and F1.
