When lightning strikes….

At least they were luckier than this lot...

Yeah I saw that as well - grim.

I guess when you think of people dying like that, you have an idea, but the selfie really captures the awesome power of it. You can make out the outline of their heads… it’s like the end of the world!

They hid under a tree? Is there really anyone who doesn't know you keep away from trees in a thunderstorm?
I know what you mean but it’s a pretty ‘random’ thing to happen to anyone, even if it seems that obvious risks could be avoided by hindsight. You could probably deliberately hide under trees during storms your whole life and not get hit.

This story has probably come forward in part as they don’t want the same to happen to anyone else.

Thought that was fire not tree leaves, that took me a minute, jesus wept...
Actually that’s really interesting and when I saw it at first… I didn’t see any leaves and mostly fire. Looking at it as you say, there’s definitely some (mostly?) leaves and then some blurring which I assume is fire. I’m not sure whether I’ve misled you!

If it’s mostly leaves (which I think it is) it’s not as scary as I thought! Albeit still scary… I’d take a pass on getting hit :p

@Thekwango did you see it as I did?
