I'm currently eyeing up a new rig mobo/cpu/cooler and have settled on an E8400 (or similar, definitely dual core though) and wish to clock it as high as I pretty much can on air, the problem is I wish to use my old case which is a bit on the skinny side, I only have 12cm measuring from the mobo tray to the closed case door,
So I was looking through which coolers would fit and sadly my top choice of a TuniqTower is out (WAY to tall) and I'm left looking at reviews of coolers and sizing them up, but when it states a Tuniq is 153MM tall, is that from the base of the copper plate?
How high does the top of the chip (die) sit from the mobo?
And reviewed on ***** they've a Gigabyte model with quiet a low profile, a G-Power Pro, any one here rate/recommend it? Or something along a similar height would be ideal, possibly a Tuniq style clone but on a horizontal plane?
Cheers!
