Hi,

Had a couple of hardware items that had let me down over the past few week, nothing too important lost but still annoying anyway.

Had a bit of a think on a suitable method of disposal, bin? Tip? Buried at sea? Nope, thought id take em out and shoot the hell out of em :D (am I the only one that’s ever thought of seeing a PC shot to bits ?)

Guns used were as follows:

CZ452 .17HMR Varmint
Baikal .12g shotgun.

First a little pic of the items before they went to the big component shop in’t sky.

Before, don’t they look happy

First off 20 rounds of .17HMR, this is a potent little bullet. Specs as follows:

Calibre: .17HMR (Hornady Magnum Rimfire)
Weight: 17grain
Speed: 2550fps (1738.63 MPH)
Energy: 245.51 ft/lbs

First 20, cover blew off HDD after the 4th shot.

Another Pic

Now to introduce the shotty  shot type used:

Calibre: 12 Guage, 2 ¾ “
Shot Weight: 30gram of AAA Buckshot

Fairly much a direct hit with both barrels on the HDD

More carnage

End state, think they well and truly F’d

Just to clarify before ending this post and the flaming starts, between me and my shooting buddy weve got over 40 years of combined shooting experience going on. All items were disposed of correctly in the bin. At no time was any one in danger.

May produce another one of these threads next week dependant on how this one goes........ To that end, any requests :D :D lol

Thanks for looking,

Dave.

Haha! Fantastic! :D I've done that before - it feels really great when the bloody things just don't work... I've thrown them out of a 12 story window, out of the car driving at 90mph, blown them up with explosives, hit them with sledgehammers... However the most satisfying is shooting the hell out of them :D

I bet it felt good ;)

Well, got about 30 minutes until wife wakes up. After that, it's target practice time!!

Oh, and BTW. The case I have is only the actual case and the mobo from an old IBM desktop machine, so you won't see much in the way of mangled drives, but you WILL see plenty of sheet metal damage!!

Going to set up the camera on the tripod and take pics after each shot and string them together in movie maker.......

Just gotta be careful not to shoot the camera!! :D

Aww man why you gotta post that for -.- For 4 months I been wanting to take mine out and beat it with a sledge hammer....damn im itching lol
