hey guys,

when should i upgrade from my 1156 platform? will it be a waste to go to a 2011 platform along with a titan and SSD?

my reason for asking is, im looking at getting a titan and a SSD and my 1156 platform lacks some features that i belive the GTX titan and SSD will benifit from

is this true or shall i just get the SSD and titan and stick it out till another platform is released?

2011 is future proof and the reason why im staying with it .

end of the year we will see the 6 & 8 core Ivybridge-E cpus .

im converting from my alienware and doing a custom build with the same chip (3820) and getting EVGA x79 board . then when the IB-E comes out i will upgrade the board to the EVGA X79 Dark thats due for release around may june , but i will buy towards december jan.

i was thinking of going titan too but 2x gtx680s are quicker (dont quote me on that) and cheaper .

im thinking about this x79 bundle:

with a kraken x60 AIO cooler with a GTX TITAN and this SSD:

Not sure i would go for that bundle myself ..

I would go for this SSD only £100 more for double the storage .

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-163-SA&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=2394

for an extra £33.90 i would get these .

this mobo

this ram

this cpu

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-391-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1672

the asus mobo ,ram and cpu only an extra £34 ontop of that other bundle.

i have just looked at the 900D ...Wowwwwww What a sexy looking case , it makes the 800D look basic ..

My order is now on hold for the 800D v12 watercool.

I know i got to wait until june now for the 900D but at least i can save and get other bits now .

Please OVERCLOCKERS do a pre-order of the 900D with V12 and i will pre-order straight away without fail .

Thanks to beasty6 that 900D looks Fit lol

id wait for an ivybridge-e 8 core, no point in getting a 400+ sandy hex core when your not really going to benefit from it yet. and everything else you probably wont see much of a difference, if the primary use is gaming that is?
