3070 paired with a 1440p high refresh monitor

my main worry will be vram when they start modding it properly!

its a game I intend to sink a lot of hours into..so want to make it a pleasureable experience rather than having lots of stutters thanks to lack of vram

You should probably downgrade to 1440p monitor.

4k barely adds anything in terms of fidelity, but it increases GPU requirements exponentially. There is no "value" in 4k for sure.

Should've gone to specsavers. I've used both 1440p and 4K and noticed a big difference, especially if you also use it for things other than gaming because the difference in text clarity is night and day.

its annoying really..I have the cash set aside already...it just irks me I have to pay so much these days....the 3070 launch was stupid enough but at least I only paid RRP..last of the evga graphincs cards

I know things cost more these days...but we do seem to be getting supremely shafted by manufacturers compared to a couple of years ago

all it will take is one game ..already sites are saying 16gb should be minimum vram at this level, is it a deliberate ploy by nvidia to sell 16gb cards...call it a 4070 super and just discontinue the 4070 ti

Unfortunately if you buy their products at these new daft prices you’ll only be setting yourself up to get shafted every time you upgrade from now on.

If you don’t have a choice ie need a gpu for work or play then you have to spend these new prices or get left behind or not be able to work or enjoy.
