When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

In normal times, waiting for the card to drop in price or have offer deals was a good tactic. However this gen it proved to be a null with prices only creeping up for a year.

Lets hope the next gen release the cards prepare the retailers by not shipping more than one per account and having resellers to offer the msrp in bursts.

Otherwise, sadly, they will have not learned a thing from this mess.

I see the RX 6800 down to £800 now, maybe in another month or two it will be affordable. RRP was £500 so how close to that can it get, it's the one I want

They seem to be the AMD unicorn sku. I have seen all the others in stock, not the 6800 though. Shame it wont be for £500 either!!

even nvidia prices falling, though funny, folk are paying more for used cards that can be bought new, just been nosing at prices from stores and have fallen quite a bit

I think the FE going prices are a good indication for the second hand market as they have the best profit margins for scalping/mining (being nonLHR and at MSRP), the 3060ti FE for example was going for £900 a month or so ago, now you can get them for under £700.

I measure my self-worth with owning the latest GPU and what car I drive.

Of course, and spending the least amount of money possible for a game and/or waiting months for the price to drop just to save ~£15 after happily spending £1000+ on the latest card.

I really hope so. If not, that's incredibly sad.

Its the OCuk way, silly.

Very true. I blow my wad on big ticket items that I can't actually afford and then try to save as much money as possible on everything else. For example I've been eating supernoodles for the past week after spending £1250 on my GPU.

It's the OCUK PC addict lifestyle man. :p

Wait are you THE Johnny Silverhand?? Sounds like something he would do haha

One of the things that will keep GPUs artificially high for a little while longer, is that it will take us all a little while to get used to prices not being super high any more. I just saw a 3060 on sale for £399 and thought "holy ****, that's dirt cheap"
I even reflexively considered buying it, just because.

But of course it's not actually cheap, it just isn't what I'm used to over the last 18 months.
