Going on previous releases are the 7000 series likely to drop in price much? Also is the equivalant 8000 series likely to be a similar price to the 7000 now?

Generally current stuff won't really drop much, it'll eventually fade away, maybe we'll get some one off deals at times to shift the stock, but prices don't suddenly fall that much.
For the 8000 pricing, that's anyones guess, it took the 7XXX a while to become acceptable price wise (In my opinion)
