When to open a case on eBay

I’m not planning on doing opening a case yet but just wanted to know when I should be looking at doing it.

Technically I could open one now as it’s past the estimated delivery date.

Paid for something Sunday and despite the estimated delivery date being Wednesday the seller hasn’t marked the item as shipped yet. Messaged them about it yesterday morning and they haven’t got back to me yet. I don’t mind if there’s a delay but I’m a little annoyed by the fact that they haven’t had the courtesy to get in touch with me at all and let me know.

How long would we leave it before sending another message/opening a INR case about it?

Business seller I might open the case now, if they've failed to respond to messages.

Private seller I might leave it until middle of next week. Real life can sometimes get in the way of dealing with Ebay sales. Although that can apply to small business sellers too.

It’s a private seller so I was thinking of cutting them some slack on when I actually get it but I’m just not impressed with the lack of communication.

If I could just hear something from the seller saying “sorry I’ll post it Monday” or just anything at all that would have been fine.

I might wait or I might open one just to try and get a timescale out of them...

Noticed the titles been edited, I know we’re not allowed to mention competitors and I’ve got ticked off for mentioning Amazon before so thought I’d play it safe

Anyway still no response today so I’m thinking of opening a case up rather than drag it out over the weekend if they’re not planning to even acknowledge I’ve even bought anything from them
