...will I have to update all my device drivers as well? ie my printer, audio, motherboard chipset etc etc?

i was just looking on my laptop's download page and it already has SP1 compatible drivers which led me to thinking i may have to manually update all the drivers as well.

thanks in advance

Not normally ,FYI I have SP1 RTM on Vista x64 and Vista x86 on my lappy, have had no isssues with drivers etc...however my brother lost sound when he installed SP1 on his Thinkpad, reinstalling the sound drivers fixed the problem for him.

cool. thanks for the quick reply.

i'll download the drivers i might need, just in case. but it sounds like i shouldn't need them.

thanks again

if you need the driver for sp1 to work it will install that first before showing sp1 on the update page

they're waiting for manufacturers to get their drivers up to shape before rolling out sp1, that's why there's such a gap between rtm getting it and us

even better then. nothing for me to do in that case :)

Vista SP1 to be release in mid-March by manually update and by mid-April it will be using auto-update follow release of new Windows Server 2008 and XP get SP3 by few weeks later.
