when was the class system removed?

(watching titanic) women and children first then the richest!
this was less than 100 years ago. what (thankfully) wiped it out?

there are still elements of a class system in the uk but i doubt that you'd still get a rich person getting priority of a 'working class' person when it came to an SOS situation ........ i hope

i agree there is still a class system but it's hardly on the same scale as the titanic scenario
