I am in two minds about upgrading from my Q6600 based rig, on the one hand most games I can play fine if I relax the settings but on the other there are one or two games I would like to play but I just can't play properly due to the poor performance.
The games I can't play very well include Arma 3, Planetside 2, Flight Simulator X and some others. Of those its really only Arma 3 that I would be spending a lot of time on if it performed properly. I'm actually surprised how well my PC can handle Battlefield 4, I do have a 6870 graphics card though which I believe is still considered decent. Performance could be better but BF4 isn't something I would spend a lot of time on so I'm not really bothered about this.
Basically I was just wondering, when will I need to upgrade to something better? When will using medium settings suddenly not be good enough to get decent performance?
I don't really know what games I will be playing in the coming years, Star Citizen is something I think I will play and would like to play properly.
Thanks guys, I think with the next gen almost upon us I will need to dig a small hole in the garden and say goodbye to my beloved cpu.
