When will quake live be ready?

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know when quake live will be released? I haven't received an invite into the beta so am hanging on for the public release. I only have a mac book at the moment so there aren't many games I can play on it. Quake Live will be great as there'll be some renewed competition in a game my laptop will be able to play and I was a big fan of Q3 when it was released.
