When will we get 16cm fans?

As a rule I only use 12cm fans in my case. Is there any reason why manufacturers aren’t making a push toward larger fan standards? Is drawing only 12volts limiting? Is 16cm simply to large to fit into most cases?

It's only recently that 120mm fans have been adapted as the 'norm' I would think it will be a while before they change.

That's true, but even when 60mm was the 'norm' you could still purchase 120mm fans, although I would imagine not many were sold.

I was thinking about the low noise/ high CFM implications of even larger fans.
