When will we see recharable ammo a standard feature in games?

Why isn't this in every shooter by now? Its pretty much the same as rechargeable health. Are there any games out there right now that has rechargeable ammo?

I don't even like Rechargeable health! Will feel like I'm playing a game with cheats enabled with ammo the same.

What difference does walking over an ammo crate make though? Does searching for ammo or buying ammo make the game more realistic?

It makes a huge difference, part of the fun of Dead Space was how conservative you had to be on the ammo. I'm not fond of games where the ammo is too plentifull.

Not a huge fan of recharging health either. I prefer to have systems where you use a med pac or injection. Otherwise it's too easy to hide behind a wall and not get killed.

I think games like Dead Space are an exception to this as its a survival horror game.

I am talking about games like COD, halo, gears ect. Would those games really suffer if you had unlimited ammo?

JFY.. I'm not saying I am for this idea, I just think ammo searching is getting old.

I think if the ammo recharged every 30-60 seconds once you were empty would work better than searching for ammo crates for a few minutes.

pointless thread - mass effect already does this

Read the title again. I know some games do this but when will it become the norm in games just like when rechargeable health became the norm.

resident evil 1+2 are good examples not to have rechargeable ammo in games. it made using the more advanced guns a bit more special if you couldn't find much ammo for it, like the Magnum in RE1, and Desert eagle in the RE2.

Survival horror games are an exception to this. I think modern action games would benefit from this.. might as well just make it unlimited ammo.
