Oh my god I hope not, it's kinda getting annoying now having to update the console pretty much everytime I go to use it.

Yes, the new codec is there. I actually haven't tried out the party chat yet so I don't know how much better it will be.

The new codec is only a big deal if it increases the output volume of speech. Audio quality isn't that bad on the 360 already, it's just far too quiet.

And imo the only perfect media player is a HTPC, I have a little mini pc and control it with my phone I've found it to be the best solution above all consoles/players/hdmi etc.

Definitely! Heck any portable PC makes a great media player, I got a free laptop with a broken screen, hooked it up to my parents TV and installed Media Player Classic and presto, it's a media player more capable than a PS3 or 360 and it can be controlled via a phone! (or well, a mouse)

I agree totally.. do you think realistically the new codec will help this as the game is a lot louder than people on the mic (EVEN FROM THE TV)
