Where are all the DisplayPorts?

I recently purchased one of the new Intel NUCs. It has both mini HDMI and mini DP video output. Seeing as I knew this was going to involve buying a new cable and setting up my default ALSA audio out (I use external speakers connected to my monitor's audio output as it makes it easier to switch between computers), I decided to look into the two different standards.

I came to the conclusion that DP is in every way better for PC users. The promise of Direct Drive Monitors, Daisy Chaining multiple monitors so that I could run three monitors from my single miniDP port, not to mention the ability to pass USB3.0 data over the same cable as your video and audio!

Thing is...there are no DDM monitors that I can see on the market. Very few monitors that support daisy chaning. Where is the displayport love? Its SO much better for PC users and its royalty free so I dont understand why monitor manufacturers aren't jumping at it!

To summarise...why does nobody make a DDM Multi-Stream monitor? DisplayPort allows you to do that and I bet people would love an easy to multi-screen, thin, light, cheap monitor.

I daisychain my dell 2913wm to my Dell 2713hm.

But other than a couple of Dells, one Asus and a Lenovo monitor, no others support it. Why is this? Also The only DDM I can find is again a Dell 19" that they dont make anymore. I just dont get why its pretty much only Dell making use of DisplayPort and not even that widely.

I haven't looked at it myself but do all graphics cards support DisplayPort?

Could it be that the majority of manufacturers cater for the standard consumer market base, not the high end?

No not all GPUs support it but most do. DP is designed to be the replacement for VGA and DVI.

Thing is even if a monitor has a DisplayPort input it does not support the monitor chaining or USB interface. They just treat it like some obscure HDMI alternative...which it really is not.
