Where are we with AMD CPUs in laptops now?

Hello,

I know AMD CPUs in laptops havent been desirable for a while now, but how are thwy with Ryzen?

Its a mid range one, so comparing i5 to Ryzen 5... I'm really linking the look of the 5500U.

What do we think?

Your 'havent been desirable for a while now' is somewhat out-of-date as Ryzen walks all over equivalent Intel CPUs. The R5 5500U has an equivalent benchmark to my desktop i7-9700F. The new Gen 12 Intel CPUs should be better but then Ryzen 6xxx is coming....

I think about the 20th. I'm not sure if I should get a Lenovo Legion 5i pro now or wait for the AMD version but still with nvidia gpu.

Battery life on the new intel 12th gen isn't great.

Personally right now I would be buying a Ryzen CPU laptop over an Intel one.

Yes, I have decided to get a Lenovo Legion 5 pro. AMD version when it comes out.
