Where can I buy pH papers on the high street?

Do you mean Litmus paper? If so, I doubt whether you can obtain it on the high street.

Hmmm, maybe. They will probably send him off to a distributor like we did (VWR/Merck) when I used to work there.

Merck have made some interesting things

I'm not really interested in buying a lot, I just wondered if somewhere like a supermarket would stock them so I could pop down. Nevermind but thanks for the offers anyway!

Garden centre/fish place is your best bet. If not, R&L will happily sell you a book. Merck, indeed, do/did make some interesting things.

An aquarium shop would be a good place. I have a variety of test kits for my tropical fish tank and they are very accurate

I got some from a chemist a while ago, although it was a large independent one that also sold medical instruments etc.
