hi guys,my pup chewed the ac adapter that powers my g19 keyboard, ive already bought 2 adapters to the closest spec of the origanal but they wont work right ,ive tried contacting support a few times but i get no replie and have since found out that logitech dont replace these adapters instead they offer you a 50%discount on a new g19 which is totaly grazy as all i need is a new adapter, can anyone help,,thx

5v at 2.4A (my search tells me it is this rating) is quite a high current power supply. What sort of power ratings have you tried?

I wonder if it would work direct off the 5v power from your computer's PSU with a little bit of soldering and heatshrinking. That'll certainly provide enough amps. It's what I'd do if I couldn't find a spot on adapter.

iv heard about connection it to the psu on the web, seems a bit dodgy though,iv also tried 2 universal ac adapters, the screen lit up for a few seconds then died again, needs more power i think, from what ive read on the net it seems these replacement adapters are really hard to find, getting really annoyed as i cant use my g19 the way i want to now, anyone else

It should be simple to wire it to PSU.

1) Cut old adapter wire close to the plug in unit. Strip wires 6mm.
2) Grab a molex extension cable, remove the male end and trim
back yellow wire and insulate. Strip red and black wires 6mm.
3) Determine which of the two conductors in the G19 wiring is positive and solder the Molex's red wire to it. Insulate.
4) Repeat with black wire and G19's negative wire.
5) Profit.

I don't know what the G19 power lead is like but if it's figure 8 cable the positive will be marked with a White dash marking. If it's round then you can work it out perhaps from the plug, or work it out from your replacement supplies.

update;im jst phoned logitech to chance my luck within 2min they said they will send me out a new one, amazing support again from logitech, they would be a lot cheaper makeing the spare parts rather than replace a £130 keyboard when nothing is wrong with it,guess il sell the old one on mm and who ever buys it can hook it up to there psu,thx for your help tealc
