Hi there,

I was wondering if there were places (and what is the name for such a place) where I can go and write code in. Obviously coffee shops are ok, but finding a comfortable and quiet enough one is a bit meh (not to mention internet connection would be great for reference ect). I been to places like google campus and mozilla space for meetups, but what about other places where you can go and get some coding done which are not coffee shops? Preferably central London.

Id stay at work if it was possible, but one of the "benefits" is being unable to open/lock the work place (means that I can't stay in without someone with keys and also means they can't ask me to do overtime without someone else being there too :D).

So anyway, is there a name for such places so I can improve my google-fu results?

Rent a desk like thing would be good, better free though ;). I know google campus runs a free cafe area, but its sometime am - 6pm (mon-fri, no weekends :(), after that its permanent users only. Since I have a day job that's that out. Emailed mozilla space to ask for their conditions/ect.

Home is where I am at the moment, but since I rent a room in a shared house thats just a bedroom, its a bit meh of an environment, no ac and doesn't feel like a place of work. But the library is not a bad idea, il check out what they have there.

And yes I can go to coffee shops, but so many people tend to pass by all the time its again just hard to get anything sensible done.

*Yes I realise its London and space is at premium, but google campus has free use, so was wondering what else is out there.* Anyway hotdesk is a start for google-fu. Thanks!

Some Science Parks do like open days where you can just drop in and code, have a bit of banter, I know that the Manchester one definately does this....
