Does anyone know where i can try the HTC Vive near me? It's a big investment before i know if it's worth it. I live near Bournemouth and the New Forest and the nearest place i can find is in Reading in PC World where there'll be queues no doubt. Don't mind paying if anyone knows of a local arcade offering gametime on the Vive??

I think over time it'll be easier to find somewhere local, like a PC World or even places like John Lewis or whatever electronics stores still exist (i cant remember if its dixons or curries which are still going and partners with PCW).

OCUK are partnering with a handful of GAME stores to have a decent PC hardware offering, which is helpful to bring up on the OCUK forum :D By chance, my local is the trafford centre (Manc) and a little over a week ago they converted the (utterly pointless) upstairs area in their new location, into a gaming area with 10 PCs and a Vive, open to all and all free afaik. I'd been after a look myself, even if it was only for 30sec, i just wanted that brief period to assess it with my own eyes. I think i had about 10min with it, not particularly ideal games (job sim and whatever that alien drone 'pew pew' game is) for what im interested in, but within seconds you could get the hype, at least i did - i just need the games, oh and the money :D
I went in half expecting it to be amazing, half hoping it wasnt cos i simply cant afford it and already having 3 screens to then spend £500 on something to 'replace' them is hard to justify, but at least now i know if the opportunity arises, i'd love to have one.

Get VR properly implemented into Star Citizen, and i'll have problems :D

I'm just down the road in Poole and unfortunately I've also had no luck finding a demo station any where in Dorset!

Yup looks like its two new accounts set up to drive people to a fee paying vive taster session booking site.

**** me its not cheap either, might set up my own with the rift hehe.

Lol at failed advertising attempt. Cheap move, can you name and shame please?

As for PC world in Reading, I can tell you now there is next to no queue most of the time. If any.

Not much help to the poster I know, but throwing it out there.

The national arcade up here in notts has a unit. And over to the east, there's a Vr place in Lincoln. The later is a little pricey though.

Hopefully now there's more about, the purple place will expand the demonstrations.

Actually, genuinely trying to find somewhere nearby. SOrry if an ad was posted, please could someone PM me the details though?

National Arcade / Lincoln are too far for me, thanks though. Tried going to Reading last bank hol (and queued) and their vive was not working well (not sure they knew or cared how to set it up properly), in the Job Simulator game my friend was under the floor boards and couldn't reach the PC to turn it on. Funny but not a great trial.
