..well this year has been snow snow rain rain 4 days of hot sunshine rain .......

We've already had a summer here. Rain what rain, we've had rain on and off for 24 hours. The wet stuff is very novel.

unless thames water fixed there pipes they lose something stupid like 1/3 of the water that runs through them...

I haven't noticed anything odd with the rain. I've learnt something about snow though from this thread.

Had quite a bit our way recently.

My cucumbers and courgettes are looking much healthier than they were.

Here's not forgetting that large parts of the country only had 3-4 inches of snow that lasted a couple of weeks and then large periods of dry, cold weather. Probably less than an inch of actual precipitation in a month and not much for a lot of the rest of the winter (harsh winters usually mean little water). Spring has been so dry in the SE, we had about 6 weeks of no rain in March and April and its only been the last week that we've really had significant rain in Surrey! A water shortage this summer has been expected for months!

We are an island ... surrounded by water.

Why can't we do like the Arabs? Build nuclear reactors and then purify seawater

The south sounds like heaven, so little rain there is actually a drought, wonderful weather!

I'm not suprised, we had a good downpour here yesterday, and one about a month previous, that's been it for year as far as I can remember.
