Where did my memory go?

Hi guys..

Previously..

4Gb of Ram
Abit IP35 Pro
BFG 8800GT OC 512Mb

Windows reported 3.25Gb of ram. Thats fine - as I understand the 32bit limitation.

Now, I've noticed that despite the spec remaining the same, Windows reports only 3.00Gb of Ram. Sisoft Sandra is happy that all 4 sticks of memory are detected and installed correctly.

Furthermore, a mate has a Gigabyte DS3, 4Gb of Ram and an 8800GT 512Mb as well and he gets.... 3.5Gb reported.

Why the difference?

mine reported 3.5Ggb when i still had my x1900xtx 512mb graphics card. when i changed to 3870x2, the computer recognised 3gb.

i recommend vista 64. i got Ultimate 64, it seels all 4GB fine and when you have 4GB the speed deficiency to windows XP is pretty much negated....

Mine reports 3581Mb which is strange since i have a 768Mb GFX card
