where did my thread go

Even though you were'nt critical of the shop themselves castibng their courier in poor light would put people off buying from the shop and thats why it's deleted. And as said there is a forum for this type of thing, if you'd of taken a picture of the actualy damages PSU in the first place instead of pictures of it in it's packageing you would have had a RMA number already.

i only took the photos of packaging because that is what i was asked to do when i spoke to OCUK on the phone.

seeing the thread deleted puts me off buying from there more. I'd sooner see how it went and what happed some of these threads should stay open and ocuk observe them and sort the matter so everyone can see that it turned out ok in the end.
seeing the thread deleted leads people to think they are not bothered and that it probably didn't get sorted

And you think having posts of damaged goods etc hanging around on the forum is a good thing for them as a business? The people who have had something go wrong are going to be way more vocal then then the many hundreds of people that get a problem free expience. And they arn't brushing it under the carpet if somnething is damaged by the courier then they will sort it out for him and if they felt there was a problem with the courier they would swtich to a different one as they have done several times before.

i'd sooner see posts of damaged goods that got sorted than posts that got deleted.

imagine u were new to this site seen the original psu post then the next day it got deleted you'd think oh right this is how it is then i'll shop elsewhere. If they leave them open and then say how the problem was sorted new customers would see this and think wow they sorted the problem out well(gives them more confidence in the company which will = ultimately more sales)

so mr x who joined yesterday is now shopping at xxxx instead of ocuk you do see my point if not open your mind a little it's quiete clear cut to see.

SO could a mod or shop rep not have jumped in and said we'll contact dpd regarding this or look into it further..

it just got left then deleted.

I don't thinks the is many (if any) shop reps here, Mods will just deleted as it's seens as a violation of the rules for the forums.

Any reps around the forum would be forbidden to post in anything but the CS forum about a customers business.

Both true, but you're missing the point I think. Perhaps instead of the posts being deleted, the powers that be at OcUK should allow the thread to be updated with the progress of the return and a positive result for the customer. As opposed to us never finding out what happened (and some people will automatically assume the worst, which leads to lost sales on OcUK's part). Might force their support staff to be more accommodating too. Not with customers who take the **** though, and there are a surprising amount of those.

xactly the point i've been trying to get accross well described :)

Yes, they should also probably edit the title and first post to ensure that people know it is resolved first off. It's impossible to keep everything perfect and they know that, so do we. I am sure there are some people though who can be overly put off.

Infact I have built a few systems via OCUK and am expecting something (other than monitor!) to go wrong soon - but I will be fine with it and will explain to whoever I am building for that it just happens.

Actually there are only really 2 sites I buy components off. I judge them greatly by the design of the site - knowing a lot about that kind of thing myself. You can tell a lot about the business, and end up on the phone getting a refund pretty soon. Grr... some sites >_< cant link them or anything but I think you all know of a few and they are probably the same. The only other good on I use has a slow and annoying to use site. OCUK's site is very good. Though I did notice that the cases choice of "category" is the manufacturers again? And the same sort of issue is in a few other places I think - but thats sort of a limitation of the programming of the site, or I could at least imagine that being why.

good news. ive recieved a rma email,

I apologise for how this has arrived with you. The best way we can arrange a replacement would be if you could return the power supply to us (we can cover any reasonable postage costs) we will then send out a new unit to you. I have sent through an email with the RMA instructions enclosed
.

so all credit to OCUK they have sorted it out, and its not thier fault the way things have turned out, dosnt help getting the thing fixed any quicker but again i say its not OCUK's fault.

and to answer the people saying i havnt posted photos without the bubble wrap, the whole thing will fall apart if i remove the bubble wrap, its the thing that is keeping the unit in one piece.

just an update, i sent the psu back on Monday, and now Wednesday i have just received the replacement, my wifes machine is now all back up and running so shes happy, I'm glad to have my own machine back for my use so I'm happy. many thank to OCUK for getting it sorted out asap.
