Where do I begin

Good evening everyone.

I've not built a PC for a good 15+ years, the last time I installed a windows platform it was windows XP!

I'm looking for something for my son, he wants to play fortnite and forza horizon 5.

Could anyone recommend a simple spec that would run these games? I'm not to worried about 1080p or anything fancy.

maybe try and fit a higher vram card in as when i used a sapphire pulse 5700 8 gig with horizon 5 it had problems with running out of vram until i turned down some settings

have a look in B-Grade the same ram can be had for £48 a good 1th SSD for £38 and very nice flashy case's for penuts, and all are open to offers but yer the build spec'ed is very nice for entry to the world of pc gaming.

if you can add a little more cash put it into the GPU

is that with mod's? just there is not a lot of games out there that really need over 8gb of ram when un-moded.

nah just the bog standard horizon 5 that is on gamepass, i think it might of been on this monitor though that is 1440p, i was getting decentish fps but it kept bringing up a message on screen saying vram getting low.

theres too many settings in that game even with a ryzen 5700x and a radeon 7800xt i have a few turned off or down

yer as the res go's up the need for more Vram dose too. but at 1080p unmoded there is not a lot of games(there is some) that are not ok with 8gb

yup just wish i could remember if it was this monitor or my old 1080p one lol

guess ill find out soon as dad has a am5 rig with my old gpu

ah thinking through my brainfog i think im pretty sure it was the 2k monitor i tried horizon 5 with, it was horizon 4 i used maxxed out nearly on my old monitor

I know it's a PC forum, but since your son wants to play Fortnite and Forza Horizon 5, why not consider a Series S ( or X ) console ? Cheapest option by far.
