Hi all,

I'm a newbie to the forum so be gentle. I've a new MSI GT73VR 6RE on the way from OCUK. As it has a SSD (2No. 256GB Raid 0) and a 1TB HDD, where is the best place to install games to get maximum performance? I notice some of the latest games are 50GB so wondering if the HDD is the smart place or will this have a significant impact on load times?

Any assistance on set up to get the most out of it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

P

Hi and welcome to our forums :)

Install them where you want. There isn't any difference other than level loading times and initial game loading. Once the game is running there's no real difference

Remember to leave about 10% space on your SSD. Filling an SSD can make it lock up.
There are videos on YouTube that show HDD to SSD making a clear difference in game load times, but SSD to superfast Nvme and such making no difference.
You can easily fit at least a couple of AAA games on a 250GB drive along with your OS and applications. If like me you play one game at a time, you can very much play from your SSD and then when you finish archive the game on your HDD if you don't want to delete it.
