Where do I put the heatsinks?

I'm putting an arctic s1 plus passive cooler on my 7770. Here's the layout

What needs cooling? I know the vrm area on the left does but there's lots of other little chips which I'm unsure about.

Is there any decent alternative heatsinks that are self adhesive but can be easily removed? (I want to avoid having to use the glue supplied by arctic if possible) Or could I get away with using no heatsinks at all on them since the 7770 is pretty low powered.

Ones surrounded in red go on the memory as shown
Black surround on the vrms as required
the little black standoffs in yellow go between the cooler and card (should have instructions tos how which way round)

As for no glue, I used a similar arctic cooler on a 4890 i had and the memory sinks kept falling off without glue pads :/

it is 80x80mm before you ask :p

I already used this on my old graphics cards for more than 1 year and I could remove it really easy without any problems.

Found a review of the cooler on a 7770 and they didn't use the heatsinks at all

Would it be okay to install it without them? Looks like the mounting bracket will block one of the ram chips anyway and I can't see any way of being able to cover all the vrms with the supplied heatsinks as they're too big and will hit off other board components.

I'd definitely recommend using Akasa tape to secure the heatsinks onto the vram chips around the core. You should also look to put heatsinks on the vrms as well. Double check with wazza about your vrm placement as it looks like you have several of them dotted around the card.

Do you still have the alpenfohn heatsinks? If so could you get me the height of the flatter ram ones and width of the narrow vrm :)
