where do you back up your data to Vstuff?

alrite all.

I was looking into options about backing up my important documents.

I've got pictures and documents mainly. In the region of 70GB. I didn't realise this but the ISP I am with (virgin) have this application called vstuff and it lets you back up data on there I also have the option of printing out 100 pictures for free a month!

anyone used this service before?

I wish to encrypt my pictures how do I go about doing this?

does anyone use sites to back up their data?

if so does it worry you that you are sending them personal documents or photos?

I don't, never will either and no i don't trust them.

A couple of external drives does me fine

I had absolutely no idea that Virgin offered this service, must have a look at the T&C.

yer looks like it is a recent thing

upload speed is a bit terrible for backing up 200GB though lol
apparently it was more than 5 days to back my data up will have to find a faster upload place!

it is super super slow though
got upload speed of over 50mb and it is taking AGES to backup

v stuff is pretty ****e tbh

I zipped up my pictures prob came in around 20gb and it took for ever to upload that. My upload speed was very fast and it is still uploading like some 9 hours later

think their server speed must be super slow.

as for the prints free but you got to pay p and p
not sure how much it costs tho

Expect 20gb to take about 61 hours to upload, or just over 2.5 days. That's at about 96K/sec.

so what speed do their servers run on?

that is pretty damn slow obviously not designed for lots of files then!
I've left it to run though.....

dont know what there servers but as mentioned they are pants. 100mb upload speed here and wasnt even geting 120kbs

so why did they even bother making vstuff?

my upload is around 50% hopefully this time tomorrow lol
