I usually just get chillies from Tesco or Morrisons but they're rarely very hot although the odd packet does have a Scotch bonnet in if you search.

At the weekend i was in Wales and a greengrocers had a great selection of Chillies available. However theres no local shop like that to me so i wondered if there was any where i've not thought of.

We have grown chillies in the past but never been very successfull!

I bought "daves hot sauce" from Tescos, be warned, that stuff is HOT!

Scotch bonnet peppers is nothing compared to that stuff!

Really?

I ate some of my home grown SB's whilst under the influence and my god they burnt like ****. Even worse coming out the other end :eek:

Unfortunately the Morrissons near to me is pretty small and doesn’t have anything other than the normal pack of mixed red and green chillies which are pretty standard in heat.

Although when I was in Tesco I spotted the packs of “Hot Chillies” I must normally not notice them and so they had quite a lot of Birds eye chillies which weren’t too bad.

I usually use dried chillis, which I get from Chinatown or Wing Yip, which is a Chinese supermarket. I can get scotch bonnets in massive quantities in Brixton or Lewisham market, but I never know what to do with so many. Last time we had half a carrier bag full for £1. Once we'd made chilli, curry, jerk chicken, peri peri, more chilli, strung a load up in the window and made a lampshade out of some... we still had loads left over

Guy who sits next to me at work took a £20 bet to eat one of my homegrown SBs. He doesn't eat spicy food.

Needless to say, he didn't think it was worth it in the end. The rest of us that chipped in enjoyed watching though :D
