I think he means USD credit? I just get mine from Amazon with a Delaware address.

ah thanks, good idea

think I actually had a paypal account years ago with a delaware address but can't for the life of me remember what email address I used for the account

I'll make another one

Thanks

Having issues with Amazon.com. Changed my billing address to Delaware, and although the order went through, they said they were checking my account and to wait 2 hours?

anyway, if it fails I've heard offgamers.com is good for US gift cards, and you can pay in any currency you like (even paypal)

Let me get this right, if I buy say the $50 Xbox Gift Card from e.g offgamers.com for around £30, I then change my Xbox One to US Region, I can apply the gift codes and buy from the Black Friday deals?

yes!

and I can confirm that amazon.com works

just login with your usual amazon account on amazon.COM

buy the $50 gift card, and where it says billing address, put delaware in the state and the zip code :D

I also assume that you can redeem the code and buy the games from xbox.com/en_us thus not having to mess about changing your console settings

If you also team up with a friend who has an xbox one, you can go 50/50 on the price

Right I'm going to buy the code now, just one question, how do you change your region without going into your Xbox?

go to xbox.com/en_us on your browser and just login with your gamertag

The only reason why people are changing their consoles is to access the US store, but you can redeem codes and buy games from the web site instead. Once you buy a game, it's linked to your gamertag and it doesn't matter then what region your console is on. You can still download the game.

From what I saw on the MS site, it was just COD Ghosts that was $14.99, not all games will be that price?

There's supposed to be a few, but even if not, good discounts to be had

it says starting from....so yeah, not all will be $14.99. If they don't add any more and it's just the ones listed, it's still a good offer

who says anything about changing regions? my browser takes me to the US xbox site for some reason by default :)

sounds to me like some people are struggling with the instructions listed above if they are changing console settings

Your browser is probably redirecting you as you will have your account set to US by default. Mine was too for some reason on the Xbox site, even though my Xbox One was set to the UK.

You can achieve the same thing in the Xbox system settings, and in any case, it's easier to browse the game marketplace and get accurate pricing on the console rather than the website.

ah ok, I'll check it out

Cheers

well i've never read anything in their terms and conditions which state

"users are not able to change their region in order to access foreign stores to save money"

http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/my-account/manage-account/change-region

It's a grey area, because if you import goods from abroad you pay import duty. Digital content has no import duty afaik? If it does, then Microsoft needs to be implementing it.

I'd also like to know why UK digital prices are more expensive than physical copies?

So to clarify, if you buy content from the US Xbox Live on a UK console, do you have to change the region on the console to access the games? Or do they work even if your region is set to UK?

no, you don't have to touch the console (unless you would rather redeem your code and buy games on it rather than the website, it's up to you). To redeem a US gift card, and buy games using $ you need to go to the US store (either via the website, or the console). If you want to access the US store on the console, then yes you need to change the region. You can change it back afterwards and the game will still show up.

personally, I like to buy the games from the website but it's your choice

once you have purchased the game, it's linked to your gamertag. It doesn't matter what region you are on.

Interesting, so it appears now when you sign in to the US site it no longer redirects you to your correct region? It always used to send me to the UK site on signing in, now it just stays on the US version if that's where I've come from originally.

I've always gone to the US one. You can fix it by changing the part after xbox.com to xbox.com/en-gb
