Where do you keep your keys?

I often find almost every house I go into, there's a key rack by the front door, with keys too all of the cars out the front.

This seems pretty idiotic, but it seems most people only think about easy access for themselves and don't think of it from a thief's point of view.

So, be honest, where do you keep your car keys?

Personally, I don't loop all my keys together, so it's generally on my pc desk, on the useless 'keyboard rack'

Always in my pocket.

Also, I agree it's ridiculous keeping a key rack by the front door, particularly if you have a nice car - such an easy target.

Same on desk usually. or kitchen top or dining table (which is in lounge)

I wouldhn't disclose to be honest. Not when the only way people seem to take CTRs is by force to get the key.

Not worth stealing anyway, plus no-one steals cars in Gib thankfully enough.

The thing with this is, if someone breaks ionto your house to get your keys, and they are not easily found, what if they come up to find them?

We've been through this before in another thread, your general ***** doesn't want to wake you up or try and chop your head off for some car keys, they simply want to pinch a car that they can get the keys to, as in poke something through the letterbox.

By leaving your keys in sight you open yourself up to both ****** taking them and murderers, by having them upstairs just the murderers are going to look for them, since not many people murder other people for some carkeys its worth the "risk".

mine are left in the kitchen, well away from any letterboxes

but easy enough to find if somebody decides they want to break into the house and demand them from us.

I don't keep the car keys on the same keyring as door keys. I don't use the car all the time so it's pointless.

I keep them well away from the front door though, normally on the side in my room.

luckily, the worse crime that's happened in st davids in the last 5 years was some kid doing a flicking the V's at a school bus, so I shouldn't have to worry here

My area of Reading looks bad...but the other night I forgot to lock the car, and it was still there the next day, with all it's contents still inside it.

Varies. I stash the keys wherever but never by the front door

Unfortunatley I can't find them in the morning
