Where do you work?

Currently work in retail - hate it, big time.

I gave up a good internship and dropped out of college, entered retail hoping to learn the business, now I've ended up stuck in a rut - merchandising handbag walls and telling girls which blouse looks best with which skirt.

I did have plans but they've changed, now I have no idea what to do. So depressing. :(

Your office window > my office window :(.

I must admit I know little about commercial aviation. As the FO do you usually have control for take off and landing?

To bring the conversation down a level..... hooked up with any Hostesses yet? :D

Aye the view can be pretty spectacular, sunrises and sunsets from FL400 are especially nice.

The terms Captain and FO generally don't mean anything whilst actually flying the aircraft. We have Pilot Flying (who obviously flys the aircraft, is in charge of navigation, configuration changes etc) and Pilot Monitoring (who handles the radios, the paperwork, monitors the PF, actually does the configuration changes that the PF asks for) These two roles are generally swapped for each flight. So on one flight I will be PF and actually fly the aircraft to where we are going. On the way home the roles will reverse and I will be PM and the Captain will be PF.

Nope not hooked up with any hosties yet, only been with the company a couple of months and only online for a couple of weeks haha, lots of nice gals around though hehe

Started a new job the other week, still for Network Rail. But now doing rail recovery. Basically working with machines and trains to collect and bring back large quantities of rail mainly from renew sites. Be it scrap or re-usable.

I'm loving it, what makes it so nice is the managers. They want to do it by the book and safe. They treat you like an adult, it just makes such a nice change. They realise that you want to progress in your career and don't try holding you back.
