I've just managed to drag it out of the folder and cant find where it came from ! 
Where does the BF2:Special Forces .exe belong ?

i just checked my BF2 SF shortcut and it just links to BF2.exe

just in your BF2 folder
its like program files\EA Games\battlefield 2
or u could look at where yer bf2 SF shortcut is pointed too

now I've got two shortcuts which load up BF2 and not BF2:SF
..and I've lost the green icon.
does SF run off the same bf2.exe but with a different "start in" path ?

My "target" on the SF icon shortcut reads like this
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024 +modPath mods/xpack +ignoreAsserts 1
and the "start in" is this
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2"
probably of no use to you at all, but id thought id let you know what its supposed to look like.
