Several months ago, I bought some of this for £72:
Geil Ultra Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-17000 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (GU34GB2133C9DC) - OEM
I've come to realize that 4 GiB is not quite enough for me (I run out of memory while processing large files in Photoshop), so I want to upgrade to 8 GiB. Now I've come across three problems:
1. The Geil kit is no longer available (anywhere, as far as I can see).
2. There aren't (m)any decent alternatives around at the moment.
3. What is available is expensive!
Questions:
A. Have RAM prices increased dramatically in the past few months?
B. What could I use to fill the other two slots in my mobo? (I have the Geil RAM running at 1600 MHz C7-7-7-24.)
Thanks in advance for any info/advice!
