Where is my free HDD space?

I am missing HDD space.
As you can see by the pic, I have used 54.1GB but if I highlight everything (including hidden items) it shows I have only used 46.2GB. This has only just happened between yesterday & today. I had over 10GB available yesterday, now for some reason that has halved yet I haven't installed anything.

I have no page file so I know it isn't that :confused:

Untick hide protected operating system files and it should show you a bit more in the folder.

Oh yea, didn't even realise that option was there.
Still strange though that yesterday 10GB was available & now only 5GB is. The only thing I can think of that could cause this is running GOTsent & quitting half way through. The save location was on another drive though so I dont think it would have left anything on C and I can't find anything out of the ordinary.

Since you don't have a page file it's probably system restore. You can change the shadow copy file size in system properties. If you want a deep overview of the files/ folders using lots of space download SpaceSniffer - It's free and awesome!

It was Hibernate.
I used that program & found a 12GB hiberfil.sys file. I had installed more ram this morning but didn't consider it would mean less HDD space.

Checked here to see what it was. I never use hibernate so now I have 17GB free space on my SSD
